FALL ANIME 2022 HAS BEEN PRETTY GOOD SO FAR

The Fall 2022 season has been an entertaining one. So far each show I’ve been keeping up with has either been a pretty great watch or beyond my expectations. I’m aware that some people feel like there’s too much hype around certain series, but I don’t really care about all that. If the anime is good to me, that’s all that matters, right? That being said, here’s what I’ve been watching plus a quick review of what I think of the series so far! 

BLEACH: THOUSAND YEAR BLOOD WAR 

My GOODNESS… this anime has not let me down since it’s comeback. If you're not a fan of Bleach, you should really think about becoming one because this season is so good! Let’s start with the animation. Every time the animation needs to be high quality for the fights, it has been. I would say the most important fights so far have been incredible quality and fantastic direction. This is exactly what Bleach needed for its comeback to be strong and for it to reach new levels of popularity. I honestly think if the season keeps being this good with it’s pacing, reveals, twists, and action…it will most definitely be a viral sensation. 

My Hero Academia Season 6

This season has been the most intense one yet and I am completely HERE FOR IT. Season 6 has been giving us moments that are unpredictable (if you’re anime only watcher) and keeping us on our toes. I will say some of the animation has been a little wonky, but that’s kind of what you get with MHA. It’s not always consistent, but it’s still really good. As of this post, I have been liking the pacing for this season and getting more screen time of heroes we haven't really seen in action in previous seasons. Let’s hope the season continues with this momentum! 

SpyXFamily 

THIS ANIME IS SO WHOLESOME. I’ve been loving the adventures we have been getting with Anya and her school journey. It’s comedy is always excellent, but when it needs to get serious, it can and it will. Let’s also talk about how the animation for action scenes (when we get them) are so good! This has been one of my favorite Slice of Life anime and I’m so happy to be watching it. The adventures of this family bring me a lot of joy and makes my Saturdays fun.

BLUE LOCK

Sports anime has always been on the lower end of my list when it comes to figuring out what to watch. HOWEVER, this anime has been so entertaining and has me hooked each week. The characters are actually interesting and the overall series is exciting. Each time they play I am extremely hyped! This is definitely one of my favorite underdog stories. I think that’s because it has such a black mamba mentality, and if you’re a Black Mamba fan, you know exactly what I mean. 

Shinobi no Ittoki

Surprisingly I am enjoying this anime more than I thought I would. This was one of those series I just kind of picked and never really looked into. I had no clue what I would end up watching which can sometimes make the experience more enjoyable. I will say the tone of this anime can be a little conflicting. Part of me thinks its the art style and some of the directing choices. When moments are intense and heat up, it falls a little flat. It doesn't take me completely out of the story, but I do wish there were better directing choices made.

Chainsaw Man

This anime has been crazy hyped up by manga readers....BUT... I have to say that the hype is well deserved. Yes, I was a little worried about the pacing of the show given episodes 5 and 6, but the series has really picked up these last few episodes and has gotten so good. One thing I am loving right now is how unpredictable this series is. No character is safe in this series and I freaking love that. Plus this series is one of the most cinematic supernatural anime I have seen. There is a lot to unpack in a single episode so I'm always re-watching to pick up on what I might've missed the first watch. If it keeps going like this, Chainsaw Man will have as much impact as Attack On Titan. I mean, that's just how I feel about it. 

Overall, the fall 2022 anime season is approaching its end very soon! It's sad, but I'm happy with it so far. I plan on picking up other series that weren't mentioned here and checking them out.
